"My Sephardic Experience"

The purpose of the film competition is to engage young adults in recognizing and learning about Sephardic heritage. The competition will introduce them to the art of film making as well as expose a new generation to the SEC and our Los Angeles Sephardic Jewish Film Festival. In the past applicants have been exposed to prestigious professionals in the industry as well as gaining their own experience as an independent filmmaker in the Sephardic community.

We are inviting three categories/age ranges to participate. Category A: Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 (as of September 2010) Category B: College students or ages 18-22 (as of September 2010) Category C: Young Professionals or ages 23 and up (as of September 2010) The film must be made solely by the applicant(s). If a film is a group project, a separate application must be filled out and signed by each member of the group. If applicant(s) are under 18 a parental signature will be required for each. Only one prize will be awarded per film regardless of the number of participants involved in the production

Submission Guidelines:
* The film must have Sephardic content but feel free to be creative!
* Five minute minimum - Ten minute maximum length including credits.
* Final submission in standard DVD format only (regardless of original shooting format)
* English or English subtitles
* Submissions must be received by 5:00 PM Friday October 29th 2010
* Completed 2010 SEC Film Competition Application MUST accompany submission.
* Submit completed application, a copy of the DVD with your first and last initial ONLY marked with a BLACK sharpie directly on your DVD. No labels, please.
We will assign a number to your DVD and your application when it is received.
